A well-polished house appeals to more renters and will rent faster. Additionally, renters feel more comfortable renting a clean & well-cared for home because they know they are dealing with a landlord who takes care of the property. To prepare your house in rent ready condition, consider:

1 Remove all nails from the wall. Patch the nail holes.
2 Partial paint or paint the whole house in neutral tones.
3 Shampoo the carpet or replace it with neutral color.
4 Exam and fix all leaky faucets or shower heads.
5 Make sure all light bulbs are installed and working
6 Remove curtains and install vertical and/or mini-blinds.
7 Fix all broken electrical switches and outlets.
8 Clean or replace greasy kitchen vent.
9 Remove all personal belongings from the house.
10 Remove trash from the garage & power wash it.
11 Professional house and carpet cleaning.
12 Set up routine yard maintenance / pool services.
